Wipe that placenta off your face
Unless you live in a deep dark cave in the hinterlands, you probably come into carcinogenic and otherwise unhealthy chemicals and substances all day long. I get that not everybody is particualarly interested in keeping track of endless lists of problem ingredients and trying to avoid them, because doing so is totally impractical and overwhelming.
So you have to pick your battles. Yes, your cell phone might give you a brain tumor and the exhaust surrounding you at five o’clock traffic is totally poison.
There’s not much you can do about it, is there? The good news is you can stop smearing placenta and other random and harmful insidious substances all over your face and body on a daily basis.
(There’s placenta in that moisturizer right there. It’s not toxic, but it allegedly contains enough hormones to make babies grow boobs).
On the cosmetic safety database, you can search out your most beloved body or beauty products to see just how toxic they actually are. The site does a pretty good job of breaking down the good, the bad, and the ugly—explaining in detail the potential damage some of this stuff can do—and can help you find less lethal versions of the products you love.

i love this database! i use it as a resource all the time, and only invest in cosmetics and bath preparations that make the grade & sign the ‘compact for safe cosmetics’. wasn’t aware of the placenta thing, though. you learn something new everyday…
