Hey all you straight, tattooed, tight-pants-wearing Hillcrest denizens: get ready to rejoice, for it looks like the San Diego Sports Club’s been hosting live music shows again for the past couple weeks now.
As CityBeat writer Bart Mendoza reported in May, the club struggled with noise complaints and was finally forced to put a halt to live music after receiving a cease-and-desist order from the city.
I don’t yet know what’s gone down this summer, but according to the club’s website, they’ve got bands booked through November. Dave the Butcher and The Infants are scheduled to play this week on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
Next time you go, give Tony Vee (pictured right) a big kiss for bringing back the music.
