TNT glam

From punk urban-wear to high-concept clothing using records and Christmas lights as accessories, there was a lot to look at and admire at last night’s TNT fashion show. The catwalk showcased nine different designers, each showing three pieces. My favorite collection was from EXIST1981, a sassy little designer who combined urban hip-hop and punk influences with vibrant techno colors to create cool, yet actually wearable designs. All of the Exist models’ hairdos were crazy, too, which pushed the connect between punk and hip-hop even further with multi-colored cornrows and mohawks. The rest of the designers were pretty fresh, too. Taking their cues from the new Soundwaves exhibition on view at MCASD in La Jolla, one used magnetic tape pulled out of VHS tapes and another made hats out of melted vinyl records. Super fresh. Super cool.

You are such a sassy little writer, too.
Beautiful description. I can picture the “vibrant techno colors” showcased by the models who “pushed the connect between punk and hip-hop.” Great blog.
