KLSD dropped?

October 17, 2007 - 6:27 am

I just awoke to word that Clear Channel has apparently decided to drop KLSD’s progressive-talk format, despite recent comments from the station’s program director that listeners’ protests and rallies were working. I haven’t heard definitive news yet, just comments from caller after caller to the Stacy Taylor show lamenting the impending loss of the format. Hopefully, Stacy will soon update the situation so I can update you.

Update: I just called in to KLSD’s studio and talked to call screener Lenny Castaneda, who told me that employees had received an e-mail from a Clear Channel sales manager that said the format and the frequency would be changing. I asked Lenny to tell Stacy to update the listeners who’re just tuning in and have no idea what’s going on.

Update 2: For some reason, Stacy refuses to update the story. He just allows callers to say they’re sorry to see the format go — without comment. The only thing I heard from Stacy was a comment that he and the other show employees would land on their feet. I have an e-mail in to program director Cliff Albert.

The truly comical aspect of this entire saga was watching all you saps fall prey to the premise that you actually had a chance in changing the outcome. What was that quote from P.T. Barnum………

p.s. Let me know when all the signs and placards go up on eBay. Gong em out Jorge.
