Displaced animals—what to do

October 23, 2007 - 9:23 pm

After working a marathon shift at my day job—I’m a club reporter by night, veterinary technician by day—I’ve realized that there are many, many evacuated people still looking for places to take their pets. My hospital reached capacity early this morning, as did many other animal hospitals in the central San Diego area; but the California Veterinary Medical Association has implemented their Veterinary Disaster Response program to assist those in need.

If you or someone you know needs assistance finding a safe place for a recently displaced pet, you may contact CVMA directly at (800)655-2862, or email them at disaster@cvma.net.
