Netipot magic

October 23, 2007 - 8:25 pm

The air, lest we not forget, is essentially toxic right now—right? (Please correct me if I’m wrong).

My nose was burning all day so I did what I always do when having sinus trouble. I busted out my trusty netipot, an ancient ayurvedic tool for sinus cleansing.

You fill it with warm saline solution, put the end in one of your nostrils, tilt your head and rinse. (Best to just let it drain naturally—dont’ try to blow out your nose at the same time.)

Believe me, I know it looks utterly ridiculous. But the clean, cool, fresh sensation in my charred nostrils after flushing out all that grainy black poison was so sublime that I feel compelled to spread the word.

If you can’t bear to buy a netipot, just warm some salty water and splash it in your nose. Anything. And be glad I didn’t post the picture of what came out.

neti is wonderful and proven…but Nasopure is the modern neti, no bending twisting neck, easy to travel with, solution is premixed once per week, even 2 yr olds can do it.
