Just wondering

December 3, 2007 - 6:04 pm

What’s up with KPBS-FM’s slogan, “KPBS, where news matters”?

Is there anywhere where news doesn’t matter? Please let us know if you know of such a place. I happen to think news matters everywhere, but KPBS apparently knows otherwise.

Yes, Glenn Beck and Nancy Grace. Their news is of no relevance to anyone with an IQ over 85.

Who cares what KPBS’ slogan is; if they keep giving me shows that do not insult my intelligence, I could not care less.

This slogan was cooked up to draw in disenchanted listeners of other stations who recently dropped their news coverage.

I wonder if some other TV station will come up with a similar slogan to draw viewers who are disenchanted with KPBS-TV’s decision to cancel its only local news program.

I suggest that some TV station start a new marketing program: “The News. Unbiased, Unfiltered, Uncanceled.” That should pull them right in.
