Are you lying or just kinda dumb?
A funny thing happened at a meeting of the Broadway Heights Community Council that I attended last Thursday night. Fernando Reyes, a field rep for Assemblymember Shirley Horton, mentioned in his comments to the group the ambitious healthcare reform proposal the state Legislature has been grappling with lately.
When Maxine Sherrard, a member of the community council who lost to Horton in her bid for the Assembly, asked Reyes how Horton had voted when the Assembly voted on the bill, Reyes said he didn’t know and would have to get back to the group on that.
Fernando, are you freakin’ kidding me? You’re a field rep for the Assembly member, and your job is to update a community group on a legislative goings-on, and you don’t know how she voted. Guess what: I think you’re lying.
The Assembly passed the bill along largely party lines, 46-31, on Dec. 17. Horton didn’t vote yes, but she also didn’t vote no. She is listed as not having voted on the measure at all.

horton has a horrible record of not voting, yet we continue to support her. go figure..
