Have to love how they put signs up in a residential area with signage stating no parking between 2AM and 6AM.
And these undereducated city employees earn how much per hour to put these signs up and take them down?

While under the guise of an anit-pollution program this looks more to be a revenue generator.

If Golden Hill and South Park aren't up yet, maybe it's because they have their hands full with the streets in the home of "the yucky greasy metal laden auto shop", Logan Heights? There are quite a few that fit the description in Normal Heights, North Park, not to mention Memorial, as well. Be patient, your chance to drive around endlessly looking for parking the night before, or forget that it's sweep day and get a ticket even more often than you do now, is surely coming soon.

I live in OB where we get it one side of the street on wed, the other friday. I have long speculated that the street sweeping program is merely investing in a hundred thousand dollar or so (estimate off top of head) piece of equipment, then it's a license to print $40 bills for the city, as fast as a parking enforcement officer can drive around and write them. Besides, I see that machine parked at the corner of Voltaire and W. Pt. Loma every week directly over a street drain for an extended period of time. and had been under the impression that's what they were doing with all the "dust bunnies" they picked up. The mayor's statement tends to suggest one of us is full of ****, maybe I'll take a looksie at what the thing is doing there next time before I stand on that point.

Hey, Go:

San Diego has more than 99 neighborhoods. There are only 13 listed here. That means many areas were "left out," as you put it, some of which are also home to industrial shops, old leaky cars and other potential pollutants.

The press release says they targeted specific neighborhoods that feed into specific bodies of water. Seems pretty straight-forward. Regardless of what some in this community would have you think, there is NOT a conspiracy around every corner.

Anyone want to conjecture why Golden Hill and South Park aren't included? There are lots of yucky greasy metal-laden auto shops in the area, and lots of oil-leaking cars among the not-as-affluent-as-Ken-Tal populace. I'd love to know how this entire central segment of San Diego, south and east of Balboa Park, could be left out.
