A genuine fuck you

Much is being made about Mayor Jerry Sanders saying “Fuck you, Steve” to mayoral candidate Steve Francis after a debate on Sunday. (Sanders confirmed this to editor Dave Rolland in an interview today.)
Mr. Mayor—Jer—don’t you dare apologize for saying it. It was a genuine response—an honest reaction to a polite, though disingenuous, gesture by a candidate who’s doing everything he can to take you down. (Really, Steve, you weren’t offering your hand out of respect, were you? And don’t say you were, because that would be doubly disingenuous).
And for anyone out there who’s offended by this, there’s a little town in Florida called Celebration that’s awaiting your arrival.
And media—just let this one go. Leave it at the blog post level. Pleeze?

Let it go? The mayor is acting like a petulant jock. It’s news. Maybe Francis is playing low and the media is playing along, but seriously, Jerry’s a big boy, he should know it’s nothing personal. Steve just wants Jerry’s job, that’s all. Hey Jerry, grow the fuck up.
Isn’t the bigger story that Fred “misspoke” when he said it was categorically false? Are we really ready to tolerate a press secretary that outright lies (or says stuff before asking his boss)? THAT is the story
I was mulling that over—about Fred. If he was asked if Jerry said “Fuck you, Francis,” then technically his response was accurate.

No way should Jer appologize! I wish he’d say it once for me too. Steve Francis is a slime ball, and Sanders is doing the best he can with a mess. Steve Francis has misleading advertisements, and in my estimation is a liar. So I say “Fuck You” to him too!

I would total vote for someone who says that to his competition. You know what I say………..fuck you to someone who can’t say fuck you while in politics. Fuck all of you!!!
