CowParade San Diego

The artistically modified life-sized fiberglass cows are currently grazing in Tijuana. Check out the picture to the left to see one of my favorites.
And right this moment, right here in San Diego, there’s a call out for local artists (read the details below) to participate in CowParade San Diego.
The cows will be on display in outdoor locations throughout San Diego from Jan. 3 through March 31, 2009.
CowParade
CowParade is a public art exhibition with a unique twist: Approximately 200 life-size fiberglass cows, transformed by local artists, will be featured around San Diego’s premier outdoor locations for three months. CowParade has been all over the world: 50 cities since 1999, including Chicago, New York, Paris, Milan, Stockholm, Moscow, Tokyo, and Buenos Aires.
More than 1 million people are expected to visit the cows in San Diego from January through March of 2009. The cows will be displayed along the downtown waterfront, popular downtown destinations such as the Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy, Balboa Park, NTC Promenade in Point Loma and in neighborhoods such as Hillcrest, La Jolla, and the South Bay.
Following the public exhibit, the cows will be auctioned off, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for local nonprofit children’s and arts groups.
For San Diego/Tijuana area Artists: If you’re interested in participating, please submit a design proposal.
If accepted, you will be provided with a blank, life-sized fiberglass cow form (100lbs) and paid a $1,000 honorarium.
Previous artists, designers, and celebrities that have participated in CowParades include:
Peter Max, Patrick Hughes, Jan Saudic, Roman Tyc, Romero Britto, James Rizzi, Burton Morris,
Red Grooms, Richard Haas, Patricia Nix, LeRoy Neiman, Rascal, Edwina Sandys, Di Rosa, Michael Graves,
Kate Spade, Vivienne Westwood, Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones), Radiohead, David Lynch, and Vaclav Havel.

I would love to submit an art proposal to participate in CowParade San Diego, however, I have not received an invitation as yet. I am listed as an artist and usually get invitations when there is a call for artists to apply. Have invitations been sent out yet? Please let me know as soon as possible. I am very excited about this project and would not want to miss this opportunity.
Thank you!
Hi,
I was in San Diego and saw the cows. I have to admit, they were very, very nice. In fact, I have a couple of nice pictures of them. Our friends were amused. Hope they come to Brussels again.
