ZTA’s ECOPALOOZA show

Art can be green, and we’re not just talking about a color of paint here.  ZTA, a local green-minded architecture firm with a sweet gallery space in front of their North Park office, is gearing up for its Green Scene Gallery 08 Event: ECOPALOOZA, held Saturday, September 13th, 2008.  The call for entries is open through July 18.  See the details below:

CALL FOR SUBMITALS
Form and Agreement

ZTA invites one and all to submit artwork, clothing (wearable artwork), furniture, projects, and
products related to green design, incorporating recycled materials or demonstrating sustainable
concepts. Chosen entries will be displayed at ZTA’s Green Scene Gallery 08 Event:
ECOPALOOZA, held Saturday, September 13th, 2008. Green Scene Gallery is located at 3956
30th Street and this event will be open to the public from 6pm-10pm. In concurrence with North
Park’s Ray at Night, and in association with the annual San Diego Green Conference (co-chaired
by AIA and USGBC), Green Scene 08 will feature a fusion of sustainable concepts and artwork.
The night will include the Carnivale of Eco-Couture Fashion Show, entertainment & refreshments,
and the latest innovative green-building industry products.

SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS for NON-CLOTHING ENTRIES:

Display is not to exceed a maximum of 6’x6’x6’.

Entries must be related to Green Design and incorporate recycled materials and/or
demonstrate sustainable concepts.

SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS for CLOTHING ENTRIES:

Submissions must be wearable, and a fitting will be required no later than August 29, 2008. ZTA
will supply models.

DUE DATES:
Submittal form and images of proposed artwork are due no later than noon Friday, July 18,
2008. You may submit online to greenscene@ztarc.com or snail mail the completed submission
form and images to: Green Scene 08 “ECOPALOOZA” c/o Zagrodnik + Thomas Architects, 3956
30th Street, San Diego CA 92104.

Submittal for actual artwork, projects, and products to be installed in the gallery is Friday,
August 15, 2008.

INSURANCE: ZTA’s Green Scene Gallery agrees to provide general liability insurance as
determined by the Board upon consultation with professional insurance broker. The Gallery does
not provide insurance for theft or damage. Artists are encouraged to provide their own
theft/damage insurance through their own brokers.

COMMISSIONS: The Gallery shall receive commission of 10%. The Artist shall establish retail
value of works.

INSTALLATION: Green Scene Gallery will be responsible for the installation and placement of
artwork.

COPYRIGHT: The Gallery staff shall take all reasonable steps necessary to ensure that exhibited
works in the Gallery will not be reproduced by any fashion. (No photographs.)

HOLD HARMLESS: Green Scene Gallery shall not be liable for loss or damage to art works
brought to the Gallery for display or sale.

DISPLAY, CONDITIONS and INVENTORY: Original work will be submitted to ZTA’s Green
Scene Gallery for exhibit selection. Works selected for exhibition will remain on display at the
discretion of ZTA’s Green Scene Gallery. The number of works selected will depend upon the
size of work and available space. All paintings to be displayed on the walls must be properly
framed and wired for hanging. All work must be clearly labeled by the Artist in a manner
determined by the Gallery. The Gallery and Artist will keep an accurate inventory of work
submitted for display.
