Hotel boycott having an impact
According to a press release sent out by the pro-gay-marriage group, Californians Against Hate, the American Association of Law Schools has decided to move their January 2009 conference from the Manchester Grand Hyatt to the San Diego Marriott located next door. AALS is doing this because the hotel’s owner, Doug Manchester, contributed $125,000 to support Prop. 8 (the ballot initiative to ban same-sex marriage). AALS made the decision to change venues after a significant number of legal organizations threatened to boycott the conference.
