Corporate Counsel at CCDC resigns
The Centre City Development Corporation just announced that their corporate counsel, Helen Holmes Peak, will be submitting her resignation at the next board meeting. The move is yet more fallout from the resignation of former CCDC president Nancy Graham, who resigned amid accusations of financial dealings with two developers—Lennar and The Related Cos., both of which have projects in the works downtown.
In 2007, Peak disclosed that a partner in her law firm did work for Lennar dating back to 2005, when Peak was involved over the Ballpark Village project (Lennar is a silent partner in the project). The press release says she was unaware of the connection during those negotiations. CCDC Board Chairman Fred Maas said in the press release that though her work on the project was “purely administrative and procedural… in this current environment, we must respect her sensitivity to this unfortunate situation.”
