Should we delete our Myspace accounts?

November 3, 2008 - 2:51 pm

Get that "Yes on 8" shit off my page!

I don’t want a “Yes on 8″ ad at the top of my Myspace profile. I bet these disgusting ads are on everyone in California’s Myspace profile. Yeah, I know it’s owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., and yeah, I know they’re just selling ads to make money for this free service I use, but this really pisses me off. Doesn’t Myspace know who its user base is? Do they know how many gay people meet each other on the site? Do they know how many gay musicians use their site? I’m officially offended.

UPDATE: I e-mailed the Myspace folks and they somehow removed the ad. Also, I learned from my Twitter friends that the ads are powered by Google, which means Myspace can’t be blamed entirely. I was just on a dictionary page and was hit with “Yes on 8″ ads. They’re really hitting online marketing hard. Ugh. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that we’re still debating this issue. Stupid conservatives.
