Mayor Jerry Sanders gives his fourth (right? 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009—that makes four) State of the City address on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Balboa Theatre in Horton Plaza. That’s all good and well; we’re sure it’ll be fabulous and stuff. But, as added enticement, a handful of Gaslamp restaurants are offering special “State of the City” specials. How cool is that? At Bandar, you get 20 percent off your tab (with flyer); Confidential’s extending its half-off happy hour until 8 p.m. S of the C attendees can liquor up from 5 to 6 and then run back over at 7 and re-load. Hard Rock Cafe’s offering 15 percent off (with flyer), or you can skip the whole thing and go to Osetra’s 5-to-7 p.m. $35 three-course prix-fix.
