Scenes from the ever-changing Gaslamp
This dude was striking poses for loose change outside The Stage Saloon, which is one of the Gaslamp's only live music venue dedicated to showcasing local bands. I gave the guy a whole 75 cents for this flex shot.

I've heard the Chee-Chee dive bar has been taken over by hipsters. Chee-Chee regulars will be glad to know that last Friday night, only two of the 10 patrons at the bar were of the hipster type.
The Bobby Fantasy band took to The Stage Saloon last Friday and gave the mostly unsuspecting Gaslamp crowd a nice little surprise. Their mix of new wave and prog rock was good enough to get at least a few people on the dance floor. Sadly, though, most of the Gaslamp girls waited until the live music ended and the crazily sexist mainstream hip hop came on before they cut loose.
That's a shadow dancer to the upper right there. Bobby called her Melissa and made note of how lovely it was to be accompanied by hot digital chicks dancing on television screens throughout the bar while he made music.
The mysterious albino buffalo at the new El Dorado Bar on Broadway continues to mystify the masses.
The El Dorado has Olympia beer on tap. Is that why the hip-hop crowd is drawn there? Last Friday night, I expected the bar to be filled with rockers and scenesters (mirroring the owners) but, instead, the place was crowded with hip-hoppers. Interesting stuff.
Sorry for the crappy quality, here, but I wanted to show y'all how cute the bartenders at El Dorado look in their old western get-ups.
