San Diego Shows–Saturday, January 31

PLAN A: The Soft Pack, The Stitches, ADHD, Slab City @ Ken Club. This benefit show for the family of recently deceased local rocker J.J. Orsborn features four SoCal punk bands filled with enough piss and vinegar to stink up the joint for days. PLAN B: Big Sandy and His Flyrite Boys, Dave and Deke Combo, The Rumblers @ The Casbah. Big Sandy has probably played The Casbah more times than any band not from San Diego. Why? Because he recreates mid-century rockabilly better than any other act on the West Coast. PLAN C: Glasses Malone @ Brick by Brick. Currently signed to Cash Money, Malone has recent collaborations with Lil Wayne and Akon under his belt, and his long-gestating debut, Beach Cruiser, has the potential to cause 50 Cent-like hysteria in hip-hop circles. That is, if it ever comes out. BACKUP PLAN: The New Fidelity, The Show is the Rainbow @ Bar Pink. –Todd Kroviak
