Not so fast: City Hall report “still needs a lot of work”
CCDC Board Chairman and CEO Fred Maas now says the Ernst & Young report on the new City Hall won’t be ready for a while yet. In a voicemail, Maas said he “spoke too soon” when he told me the report would be ready this week
“It still needs a lot of work,” he said.
The report in question is a double-checking of the financial figures on whether building a new City Hall under the guidance of developer Gerding Edlen will save the city money in the long run over refurbishing the current City Hall.
I spoke to Maas a few minutes ago, and he added that he’s not on the committee working directly with Ernst & Young, but that the report “didn’t meet my expectations.”
“All we want is to be able to provide the complete set of facts to the City Council, so they can make a decision,” Maas said. “This report definitely needs another pass.”
