But here’s a secret: You should get there in time to bathe in Ale Mania’s watery, synth-driven drug anthems. PLAN B: Archons, OAKS, Ride the Sun @ Ruby Room. There’s a good chance that Archons are currently San Diego’s reigning underground metal band, inhabiting a sludgy no-man’s land between doom, classic rock and prime ’80s thrash. To quote the ancient metal proverb, it’s “all killer, no filler.”
