PLAN A: The Long and Short of It, Kill Me Tomorrow, Fing @ The Casbah. From the previews available, The Long and Short of It’s new album, CAW!: An Unkindness of Ravens, is just the kind of rock album San Diego needs right now—an aggressive, confrontational take on today’s false idols. Make sure to snag a copy at this CD-release party. PLAN B: Miss Erika Davies, Greg Gibson @ Soda Bar. Blessed with a stunning voice, a Lauren Hutton-esque gap in her teeth and some impressive ukulele talent, it’s hard to believe that Davies’ melancholy lounge-jazz hasn’t been picked up by a major label. BACKUP PLAN: Dave Mason @ Anthology. –Todd Kroviak

Me gots a big ol’ puppy dog crush on Erika Davies. Me wants to make her Mrs. Erika Davies-Combs. That gap and those dimples just kill me! Oh, and her voice is fantastic as well.

Quick Picks:

Charles Musket, River City @ Ken Club

DJs Gabe Vega & Saul Q @ Whistle Stop

Bad Credit, Molly Jenson @ Lestat’s

Michelle Shocked @ Acoustic Music San Diego

The Napoleon Complex, The Modlins,The Hot Toddies, The Beautiful View @ Radio Room
