PLAN A: Black Mountain, The Sadies @ The Casbah. As much as they reach back to the past for inspiration, I have no qualms in saying Black Mountain is one of the most enjoyable bands currently making rock music. Considering they’re only on album No. 2 and have already opened for Coldplay on a U.S. tour, I’d say they have an bright future.  –Todd Kroviak

The guy who shot this isn’t exactly the next Scorsese, but you get a good idea of what you’re in for at Black Mountain tonight:

And while it’s definitely not one of their most beloved songs, “Set Us Free” has to be my favorite Black Mountain song:

Quick Picks:

Platanos, Francis Bacon, Reverse Cowboys @ Soda Bar

The Unruly Bangs, The Pears, Diana Death @ O’Connell’s

Thirsty for Change Benefit Concert featuring Timmy Curran, Alex Woodard, Astra Kelly and Holding Air Hostage @ Belly Up (3-7 p.m.)

“Too Many Creeps” @ Whistle Stop

Midnight Radio (Hedwig and the Angry Inch tribute band), The Attack! @ Ruby Room
