San Diego Shows–Saturday, April 11

PLAN A: Monotonix, Kill Me Tomorrow, Hostile Comb-Over @ The Casbah. This is the sound of Jews attacking. PLAN B: No Age, Abe Vigoda, Christmas Island @ The Loft at UCSD. No Age’s Nouns was good enough to land the No. 50 spot on Rolling Stone’s list of the top 50 albums of 2008. It should have been higher. PLAN C: Says Rally, Lady Vain, New York Rifles @ Soda Bar. Like a more hardcore version of Art Brut, Says Rally’s MySpace page says they sound like “something our friends do better.” Just who are these friends? ’Cause Rally’s pretty damn good.
Just a taste of what you should expect tonight from Monotonix. Oh, and don’t forget to read AnnaMaria Stephens great piece on them from this week’s issue.
No Age. I can’t believe how much noise these guys make.
Quick Picks:
Da Bears, The Valley Arena, Apes of Wrath, Chaz @ Che Cafe
The Gift/Curse, Death On Mars, Incomplete Neighbor @ Ken Club
Leon Redbone @ Anthology
The Creepy Creeps, Batar-Zan @ Radio Room
DJs Blackstone & Atari @ Whistle Stop
Dannicus Live, The Dread Crew of Oddwood, Uncle Nancy & The Family Jewels @ Dream Street–Dannicus Live love me
