What’s the deal Jim? Audit finds eight devices missing from District 7 office inventory
Standard procedure calls for the San Diego City auditor to tie up the loose ends when an official leaves office, including an inventory of equipment. When former City Council members Scott Peters, Toni Atkins, Brian Maienschein, and Jim Madaffer left office, the auditor discovered that the systems in place for checking on missing equipment were inadequate, since a bunch of stuff was missing. Actually, one device was missing from Atkins District 3 office, and two Peters’ District 1 offices, and Mainschein came up clean. But eight of the 11 unaccounted for devices went AWOL from the offices of Jim Madaffer, who represented District 7.
The report doesn’t say the devices were stolen or lost or anything, just that they’re unaccounted for.
