CityBeat’s looking for freelance writers
San Diego CityBeat is looking for hungry writers to join its team on a freelance basis. You can either be a seasoned journalist or someone who can immediately demonstrate a talent for the written narrative, but you must understand what it means to be “alternative.” We’re looking for writers who can tell compelling stories about local news and politics, cops and courts, the military, poverty, wealth, ethnic communities, books, music, nightlife, dance, visual art, cultural trends, technology, sports, sex and sexuality, independent business trends, neighborhood life, personal human drama. In other words: Just about anything, as long it’s a story that’s interesting and hasn’t yet been told. If you think you can help us, please send (to editor@sdcitybeat.com) a cover letter describing your past experiences and journalistic interests, plus a couple of writing samples. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
