Insurance companies and the U-T editors who love them
In today’s Union-Tribune is a story about how the president’s message on healthcare reform has been driven by polling data that show that Americans hate insurance companies. But in the same issue is an editorial urging more scrutiny of the idea of launching a government-run insurance plan that would compete with private insurance. The editorial claims that polls show that “most Americans” are satisfied with their health insurance.
So, Americans generally hate insurance companies but are happy with their own insurance companies? Is that like how Americans hate Congress but love their individual congressional representative?
