This week’s CityBeat story on the appeal a La Mesa man has filed to undo a conviction for threatening a “major presidential candidate” featured some key quotes from Fresno-based attorney Rick Horowitz. We can’t always fit into our stories every idea a source drops in an interview, so it’s always nice to see it when a source publish hisown, extended analysis.
This week, Horowitz did just that on his blog, Probable Cause (“The Legal Blog with the Really Low Standard of Review”). Specifically, Horowitz digs into Romo, the key precedent-setting case the court’s will be looking to for guidance as to whether Walter Bagdasarian’s statements on a Yahoo! message board constitute a “true threat.”
