It’s a mystery why Sugar Hill Gang, the hip-hop legends who first performed “Rapper’s Delight” back in 1979, would perform at a metal venue out in the sticks. Let’s hope it’s not because they’re doing a rap-rock revival la Vanilla Ice. PLAN B: Stage Kids, Dreamgoatz, Montucky, Marcelo Radulovich @ Tin Can Ale House. Splitting the difference between Rodanstyle math-rock and Q And Not U-style emo, locals Stage Kids throw down with subtlety. Arcata’s Dreamgoatz make folksy indie-pop bubbling with 8-bit effects.
