State of the City Bingo cards!
It’s time again for Mayor Jerry Sanders to present his State of the City address, an annual affair where gadflies wait breathlessly for the man to stumble and say “erection” instead of “election,”* or drop some obscure thesaurus treasures like “sloganeers.”
This time, we thought we’d spice it up by creating these bingo cards for you to print out and pass around as Jerry delivers his speech.** Remember, if you get five in a row, shout out “BINGO!” at the top of your lungs.
We’ll also accept “DEMAIO!”
The show starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12, in the Balboa Theatre (868 Fourth Ave.). It will also air at 8 p.m. on City TV, Channel 24.
* The “erection” incident wasn’t actually a State of the City address.
** Advance copies of the speech are usually available to the press, which kinda takes the fun out of it, so we’re not actually offering any real prizes.
Love it, Dave! These cards would also make for a swell drinking game. As mentioned on Twitter, we’re all eager to have Mayor Sanders mention the bingo cards at tonight’s speech. Not only would it be fun, it would prove that the Mayor hasn’t lost his sense of humor. In the past Mayor Sanders has been a dang good sport, playing along with radio stunts and laughing at his own foibles. It’s an admirable quality in any elected official but it hasn’t been on display much lately.
